I went back to my Internal Medicine guy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We agreed that I didn't need a transplant (I -MIGHT- need a bypass at some point in the future&amp;nbsp;but I'll see a different doc who's not scalpel happy) that a better route would be a new&amp;nbsp;blood pressure med,&amp;nbsp;Aspirin, Crestor at a moderately high dose, and niacin (yes the vitamin) to dramatically lower cholesterol and clear out the plaque in my arteries while keeping my blood pressure&amp;nbsp; in a reasonable range.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It's true I won't have 100% heart output... but with my OTHER physical issues I'll NEVER use 100% output... I can't&amp;nbsp;run and can just barely walk with a cane. Currently my internist takes care of that.... now the surgeon SHOULD take care of all additional pain meds I'd need (which will probably be substantial considering that for open heart surgery they crack your breastbone like a chicken and then wire (literally) you back together after they (hopefully) get you restarted and not leaking)...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;but I kinda have my doubts... it's taken me literally decades to find a doc with a decent bedside manner who's also a competent physician AND will write schedule narcotics at a reasonable level for someone with my degree of damage.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;so he SHOULD write me for enough to take care of all the post surgical pain AND my normal "vicodin" level pain....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;i.e. dilaudid or morphine for example.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;but we'll see... Justice Arthur Goldberg (joined by Chief Justice Earl Warren and Justice William Brennan) expressed this view in a concurring opinion in the case of Griswold v. He was 98th on the list of some 200  inmates designated to make the escape on March 24, 1944, but only 76  got away before guards detected the breakout and raised the alarm.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="textBodyBlack"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="textBodyBlack"&gt;The breakout was celebrated in the 1963 film  "The Great Escape" starring Steve McQueen and James Garner.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="textBodyBlack"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="textBodyBlack"&gt;&lt;span id="byLine"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;Only three men managed to  reach safety. Adolf Hitler ordered the execution of 50 recaptured  escapers, and 23 others were returned to custody.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="textBodyBlack"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="textBodyBlack"&gt;&lt;span id="byLine"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;British news reports said  Harrison was believed to be the last survivor of the plot, but this  could not be confirmed. In addition to the 200 men who won places in the  escape queue through a drawing, others were also involved in  preparations.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="textBodyBlack"&gt;&lt;span id="byLine"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;"I  guess it was a blessing in disguise I never made it through, as most  were shot," Harrison said in an interview last year with the Scottish  Sun newspaper. No one has a  precise count of how many cheese types France produces, but the country  has long prided itself on having a different one for every day of the  year.&lt;br /&gt;"The French have forgotten what real cheese is," said Veronique  Richez-Lerouge, who heads the Association Fromages de Terroirs, a group  aimed at protecting France's cheese culture.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Many blame the Americans, saying they habituated the French to  pasteurization, to the detriment of raw-milk cheeses – an ironic claim,  considering that the germ-killing process was invented by a French hero  of science, Louis Pasteur.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Other big forces are also in play: the creeping homogenization of the  global palate, food-safety regulations imposed by the European Union,  and the increasing weight of the food industry, which churns out just a  handful of blockbuster varieties.&lt;br /&gt;Some small farms cannot cope with the new rules, and Big Food stands  ready to buy them out.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are plenty of cheeses that only exist as names in old books,"  said Stephane Blohorn, who owns Androuet, a famous 101-year-old chain of  Paris cheese shops.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The French are still prodigious cheese consumers. They eat just under  half a pound a week per person on average, according to the Eurostat  statistics agency. That puts them just behind the 27-nation EU's  champion cheese-eaters, the Greeks.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What has changed is the kind of cheeses the French eat.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Raw-milk cheeses, which until World War II and the arrival of the  U.S. military accounted for nearly all French production, now make up  only 7 percent of annual consumption, according to the cheese-boosters'  group. Now most French people go for pasteurized, mass-produced,  plastic-wrapped varieties like emmenthal, camembert and the  orange-colored mimolette, and processed cheeses like the Laughing Cow  brand.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"Buying cheese has become like buying a box of detergent," said  Richez-Lerouge, whose association publishes a calendar featuring  bikini-clad pinups straddling hunks of Saint-Nectaire, Savarin and  Rocamadour from family farms.&lt;br /&gt;In La Savinaz, a village perched on a snow-covered peak in the  eastern French Alps, Marmottan trudges downstairs to the stable – on the  ground floor of her Swiss-style house – to milk her 30 cows and 80  goats.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In the outsized cauldron, she blends the milks and adds yoghurt to  kick-start fermentation. Several days later, she mixes and salts the  curd, packing it into tall cylindrical molds that leak out any remaining  whey before being dispatched to the cellar to age for a few weeks.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Local histories tell of Charlemagne tasting persille de Tignes  tasting it during a visit and ordering a selection of the best wheels  shipped back to the royal court.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Within recent memory there were dozens of families making persille de  Tignes in this region of Savoie. Now Marmottan, 52, her husband and  older brother are the last ones, making some 33,000 pounds a year.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"Little by little, the others got old and retired or decided it  wasn't financially worth it to them," Marmottan told The Associated  Press. "A farm has to be viable financially and the product we make has  to interest people or we can't in good faith continue. It's too hard a  job."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In the past two decades, the number of small family farms has  plummeted, falling by 14 percent between 2000 and 2004 alone, to just  over 100,000, according to an Agriculture Ministry study.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The shift away from raw milk cheeses began with the rise of  pasteurization, which kills the occasionally deadly micro-organisms that  can lurk in milk.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then, in the 1960s and '70s, supermarkets moved in and the  one-product store felt the squeeze. In 1979, France had some 20,000  fromageries, according to the National Federation of Milk Product  Retailers. Today, there are about 3,300.&lt;br /&gt;"Supermarkets have effectively squeezed out the small retailers,"  said Androuet's Blohorn. "Those who survived are really offering a  superior product aimed at very discriminating consumers."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;At Au Bon Fromage, a Paris store, persille de Tignes can retail for  up to $16 a pound.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Marmottan follows a recipe passed down orally by her parents, who  learned it from theirs. Marmottan taught it to her three children, but  like many in the younger generation of the village and surrounding  Alpine valleys, their interests appear to lie elsewhere.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Marmottans' eldest is a lawyer, and the youngest is a  member of France's national ski team. I'd have NO PROBLEM sticking myself with a needle (I can't do IV injections, never learned)... and I don't like shots... but I'd do anything to get rid of the pain.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I just took the 10mg vicodin and the percocette and am am begging for relief.... I'm trying to fill every opiate/pain receptor I've got.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All because of being run over 30+ years ago. a legit injury, shows up on x-rays no problem. New doctors who I've never talked to look at the x-rays and ask "now when were you in this wreck?"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;and I'm not even drowsy, no "buzz" at all.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;luckily nights like this aren't common... but they happen often enough. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Power That Is (some call it "god") put the poppy here for the benefit of man... the worst side effect of chronic opiate use is... constitpation... legally it's cheap as dirt.... most people who try it find they just don't have a "taste" for it... let those of it that need opiates get use them freely... to do so otherwise is cruel.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I just did a shot of rum to potentiate everything... dangerous I know but the straight (legal) narcotics aren't touching the pain tonight and it's said if you can't "feel" the drugs you're not nearing your "limit".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Opiates should be totally legal for adults to buy and use... the few that would become addicts could buy it cheap (and with legal stuff there's no infections, aids transmissions (legal needles for the inject-able stuff) , and no crime (it's cheap legally).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Those of us with severe but regular pain issues shouldn't have to suffer or after initial diagnosis and education on how to use their medicine.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I hope it works. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div class="separator" style="clear: both; People are arming themselves in preparation for the of their possible need to serve as militiamen as required by the Federal Militia Act of 1792.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This upswing&amp;nbsp;has been attributed to 2&amp;nbsp;factors:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Gun owners are purchasing firearms in the last  hours before President Obama passes stricter gun-control laws - despite the likelihood that he's not legally qualified to be president.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;OR...the recession is engendering fear of crime and government oppression.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To be fair, it's more reasonable to assume the former is to blame.   Still, handgun manufacturers and gun shops are reporting strong demand. Along with weapons, ammunition is also in short supply. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;“Handguns are crazy right now,” Tammy Wilson, manager of Express Huntin’ N Fishin’ (a sportsman’s supply store in Sebastian, Florida) told a local newspaper. “A lot of them are on back order.” &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It's no surprise that Florida and California, among other states, are seeing this demand firsthand. Their McMansion-scarred exurban communities are well on their way to becoming new American ghettos - deserted and lawless. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This isn't an exaggeration: In California’s Inland Empire -- as the landlocked southeastern region of the state is known --&amp;nbsp;foreclosures are close to 20% in some parts. /&gt;I'm in just horrific pain, jolts down my leg, sciatica.... and because I'm not at home at the moment and left my medicine bottle at a relatives house over the holiday weekend and I'm just in agony.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In Paris I'd hobble down to the closest (they're really everywhere... I can think of 3 on Denfert-Rochereau alone) Pharmacy ask for &lt;b style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;Co-codamol&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt; Adult&lt;/span&gt; and I'd be walking out of the pharmacy with 32 tablets with 20mg of codeine plus tylenol... standard dose is 2 every 4 hours in 5 minutes... total cost less than 5$US and 10 minutes even as slow as I go... and I'd be OK in an hour... laying down flat but not in total agony.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If I go to the ER I'll end up waiting hours... it's about an hour's drive to where my medicine is at the moment (left a bag there  from the holiday weekend)... I'm taking everything I can scrounge up which isn't much... like benadryl... it's the same stuff as in the OTC sleep aids, various non-narcotic pain killers like Aleve (hey every little bit helps) and I'm going to try a soaking bath so hot I come out looking like a &lt;span style="color: rgb(204, 0, 0);"&gt;Lobster&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But unless I just get lucky and can get the bones in my well broken back to magically pop back in line I'm just in &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;HELL&lt;/span&gt; tonight...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;if the US FDA would get it's head out of it's ass we could still have low dosage codeine OTC...like the rest of the civilized world... I saw many a student living High on the Hog on student loans while in school for a near worthless degree and then complain upon graduation they couldn't find a high paying job in the field... how many philosophy majors does the world need...).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But... a new MD doesn't expect to make a quarter of a million a year right off the bat in France... he (or she) is a doctor because they tested well in those skills... and they get a job right off the bat at a good salary... live comfortably, 7 weeks minimum vacation, etc...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Since you're NOT having to pay outrageous salaries health care IS cheaper... and of course Pharmacists are trained more or less as "nurse practitioners" and can deal with minor problems right at the pharmacy counter giving you what would be prescription meds (or even narcotic meds) here plus the cost/time of a doctor's appointment.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;More doctors per capita (at lower but still nice salaries), pharmacies virtually everywhere, and you can even get a house call... get sick in your hotel just call the front desk and ask for S.O.S. Medicine... they do house calls day or night... one cousin does just this in Paris. I think he just likes having a parking permit that lets him park ANYWHERE.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But the French medical system starts supporting people's health a lot earlier than that. Women with infant children get a "nanny" 2 half days a week to help in the home. Doctors will make housecalls for immunizations etc. so you don't have kids coming down with measles and to check general health.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So when the brainwashed far right (and I'm FAR FAR RIGHT) starts talking about "waiting lists" in Canada ask them about France... and why the French don't come here for medical care... why should they? However, early this year, a federal district court in Washington, D.C. granted anti-gun plaintiffs a preliminary injunction against implementation of the new rule.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;“It has been an NRA priority to change the old, outdated rule, and we are pleased that Congress passed this critical legislation,” said Chris W. Cox, NRA’s chief lobbyist. “This step brings clarity and uniformity for law-abiding gun owners visiting our national parks and wildlife refuges. NRA will continue to pursue every avenue to defend the American people’s right of self-defense.” &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;The National Park Service’s recent report revealed that 11 murders, 35 rapes, 61 robberies and 261 aggravated assaults occurred on parklands in 2006. In addition to the dangers and potential attacks from human predators, park visitors have to consider attacks from animal predators.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Between April and December 2007 there were at least a dozen grizzly bear attacks reported by park visitors. Today, 31 states allow the carrying of firearms in state parks – all with safe and satisfactory results. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;This bill provides consistency across our nation’s federal lands and puts an end to the patchwork of regulations that govern different lands managed by different federal agencies. In the past, only Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service lands allowed the carrying of firearms, while National Parks and Wildlife Refuges did not. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Currently, 48 states have some process in place for issuing licenses or permits to allow law-abiding citizens to carry firearms.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;This new legislation restores the rights of gun owners who wish to transport and carry firearms for lawful purposes on most DOI lands and makes federal law consistent with the state law in which these lands are located. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;“This common-sense measure, offered by Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK), gives law-abiding gun owners the option of protecting themselves in our federal parks and refuges. I mean REVOLUTIONARY. The State of Montana has defied the federal government and their gun laws. This will prompt a showdown between the federal government and the State of Montana. The federal government fears citizens owning guns. They try to curtail what types of guns they can own. The gun control laws all have one common goal ­ confiscation of privately owned firearms.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Montana has gone beyond drawing a line in the sand. They have challenged the Federal Government. The fed now either takes them on and risks them saying the federal agents have no right to violate their state gun laws and arrest the federal agents that try to enforce the federal firearms acts. This will be a world-class event to watch. Montana could go to voting for secession from the union, which is really throwing the gauntlet in Obama's face. If the federal government does nothing they lose face. Gotta love it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Important Points ­ If guns and ammunition are manufactured inside the State of Montana for sale and use inside that state then the federal firearms laws have no applicability since the federal government only has the power to control commerce across state lines. Montana has the law on their side. Since when did the USA start following their own laws especially the constitution of the USA, the very document that empowers the USA.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Silencers made in Montana and sold in Montana would be fully legal and not registered. As a note silencers were first used before the 007 movies as a device to enable one to hunt without disturbing neighbors and scaring game. They were also useful as devices to control noise when practicing so as to not disturb the neighbors.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Silencers work best with a bolt-action rifle. There is a long barrel and the chamber is closed tight so as to direct all the gases though the silencer at the tip of the barrel. Semi-auto pistols and revolvers do not really muffle the sound very well except on the silver screen. The revolvers bleed gas out with the sound all over the place. The semi-auto pistols bleed the gases out when the slide recoils back.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Silencers are maybe nice for snipers picking off enemy soldiers even though they reduce velocity but not very practical for hit men shooting pistols in crowded places. Silencers were useful tools for gun enthusiasts and hunters.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There would be no firearm registration, serial numbers, criminal records check, waiting periods or paperwork required. So in a short period of time there would be millions and millions of unregistered untraceable guns in Montana. Way to go Montana!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Discussion ­ Let us see what Obama does. If he hits Montana hard they will probably vote to secede from the USA. The governor of Texas has already been refusing Federal money because he does not want to agree to the conditions that go with it and he has been saying secession is a right they have as sort of a threat. Things are no longer the same with the USA. BONIEK, BENNETT, BUTCHER, CURTISS, RANDALL, WARBURTON&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;AN ACT EXEMPTING FROM FEDERAL REGULATION UNDER THE COMMERCE CLAUSE OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES A FIREARM, A FIREARM ACCESSORY, OR AMMUNITION MANUFACTURED AND RETAINED IN MONTANA; AND PROVIDING AN APPLICABILITY DATE.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Section 1. Short title. [Sections 1 through 6] may be cited as the "Montana Firearms Freedom Act".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Section 2. Legislative declarations of authority. The legislature declares that the authority for [sections 1 through 6] is the following:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(1) The 10th amendment to the United States constitution guarantees to the states and their people all powers not granted to the federal government elsewhere in the constitution and reserves to the state and people of Montana certain powers as they were understood at the time that Montana was admitted to statehood in 1889. The guaranty of those powers is a matter of contract between the state and people of Montana and the United States as of the time that the compact with the United States was agreed upon and adopted by Montana and the United States in 1889.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(2) The ninth amendment to the United States constitution guarantees to the people rights not granted in the constitution and reserves to the people of Montana certain rights as they were understood at the time that Montana was admitted to statehood in 1889. The guaranty of those rights is a matter of contract between the state and people of Montana and the United States as of the time that the compact with the United States was agreed upon and adopted by Montana and the United States in 1889.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(3) The regulation of intrastate commerce is vested in the states under the 9th and 10th amendments to the United States constitution, particularly if not expressly preempted by federal law. Congress has not expressly preempted state regulation of intrastate commerce pertaining to the manufacture on an intrastate basis of firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(4) The second amendment to the United States constitution reserves to the people the right to keep and bear arms as that right was understood at the time that Montana was admitted to statehood in 1889, and the guaranty of the right is a matter of contract between the state and people of Montana and the United States as of the time that the compact with the United States was agreed upon and adopted by Montana and the United States in 1889.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(5) Article II, section 12, of the Montana constitution clearly secures to Montana citizens, and prohibits government interference with, the right of individual Montana citizens to keep and bear arms. This constitutional protection is unchanged from the 1889 Montana constitution, which was approved by congress and the people of Montana, and the right exists as it was understood at the time that the compact with the United States was agreed upon and adopted by Montana and the United States in 1889.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Section 3. Definitions. As used in [sections 1 through 6], the following definitions apply:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(1) "Borders of Montana" means the boundaries of Montana described in Article I, section 1, of the 1889 Montana constitution.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(2) "Firearms accessories" means items that are used in conjunction with or mounted upon a firearm but are not essential to the basic function of a firearm, including but not limited to telescopic or laser sights, magazines, flash or sound suppressors, folding or aftermarket stocks and grips, speedloaders, ammunition carriers, and lights for target illumination.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(3) "Generic and insignificant parts" includes but is not limited to springs, screws, nuts, and pins.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(4) "Manufactured" means that a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition has been created from basic materials for functional usefulness, including but not limited to forging, casting, machining, or other processes for working materials.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Section 4. Prohibitions. A personal firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured commercially or privately in Montana and that remains within the borders of Montana is not subject to federal law or federal regulation, including registration, under the authority of congress to regulate interstate commerce. It is declared by the legislature that those items have not traveled in interstate commerce. This section applies to a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured in Montana from basic materials and that can be manufactured without the inclusion of any significant parts imported from another state. Generic and insignificant parts that have other manufacturing or consumer product applications are not firearms, firearms accessories, or ammunition, and their importation into Montana and incorporation into a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition manufactured in Montana does not subject the firearm, firearm accessory, or ammunition to federal regulation. It is declared by the legislature that basic materials, such as unmachined steel and unshaped wood, are not firearms, firearms accessories, or ammunition and are not subject to congressional authority to regulate firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition under interstate commerce as if they were actually firearms, firearms accessories, or ammunition. The authority of congress to regulate interstate commerce in basic materials does not include authority to regulate firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition made in Montana from those materials. Firearms accessories that are imported into Montana from another state and that are subject to federal regulation as being in interstate commerce do not subject a firearm to federal regulation under interstate commerce because they are attached to or used in conjunction with a firearm in Montana.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Section 5. Exceptions. [Section 4] does not apply to:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(1) a firearm that cannot be carried and used by one person;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(2) a firearm that has a bore diameter greater than 1 1/2 inches and that uses smokeless powder, not black powder, as a propellant;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(3) ammunition with a projectile that explodes using an explosion of chemical energy after the projectile leaves the firearm; or&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(4) a firearm that discharges two or more projectiles with one activation of the trigger or other firing device.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Section 6. Marketing of firearms. A firearm manufactured or sold in Montana under [sections 1 through 6] must have the words "Made in Montana" clearly stamped on a central metallic part, such as the receiver or frame.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Section 7. Codification instruction. [Sections 1 through 6] are intended to be codified as an integral part of Title 30, and the provisions of Title 30 apply to [sections 1 through 6].&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Section 8. Applicability.
